In the heart of Tel Aviv port is a captivating corner that offers something different and distinctive, with an original concept: Rosh Pinna in Tel Aviv port. When you see the design and the menu, and absorb the atmosphere, you clearly sense the one-of-a-kind ambience of that picturesque Upper Galilee village.
Nimrod is a bar-restaurant in real Galilee style - flowering plants everywhere, the relaxing sounds of wind-chimes carried on the sea breeze, and Israeli hits and classic rock that take turns in providing background music. All this is set against a backdrop of perfect harmony with the blue Mediterranean that’s just a few yards away. When chilly sea-breeze springs up, the waiters quickly provide guests with colorful warm shawls that are always at hand.
The affinity with the Upper Galilee doesn’t end with the atmosphere and the menu, and Nimrod has a special corner that supplies information on cultural and leisure sites in the Galilee (guests receive a 10% reduction at those sites). You can also buy the spices and healing herbs grown in Shiri Havkin’s herb farm in Rosh Pinna. Yes, Nimrod is a restaurant that grants its guests a true Galilee experience, without driving all the way up north…
Nimrod has a highly varied menu, and the bread, confitures and desserts served are all made in-house by the restaurant’s chef. The jewel in the crown is the Galilee Breakfast, an opportunity to really indulge yourself. And unlike most restaurants in Israel, breakfast is served all day long.
Nimrod was launched in 2007 by Ehud Segev and David Eyal, both Rosh Pinna natives. It was named for the late Nimrod Segev, Ehud’s only brother and David’s childhood friend, who was killed on 9 August 2006 in the Second Lebanon War. He was devoted to Rosh Pinna, where he was raised. When he relocated to central Israel, he regularly visited Tel Aviv port with his wife and little son – it was an area that he loved. And that was how the idea was born – to commemorate his favorite places, by bringing Rosh Pinna to the port.
